First have the girls decide what group/community they would like to help, i.e. retirement home, troops overseas, school, children in a hospital, animal shelter, etc.
Then they need to brainstorm on how to help this community, i.e. shelve books in the library at the end of the day, plant flowers, make cards, donate gently used stuffed animals, donate slippers, make coloring books, help clean up an area, etc.
Remember the community service project does not need to be money earning and that the girls need to plan and execute the whole project themselves (will a little assistance from the coaches).
Ideas for money-earning projects: car wash, run-a-thon, bake sale.
